To our patients,
As many of you know we have been very proactive in taking steps to protect you, ourselves and our community from Coronovirus, Covid-19, while still trying to treat as many people as possible.
Today, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association changed their guidance. The ADA is now recommending that dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures in response to the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19.
“The American Dental Association recognizes the unprecedented and extraordinary circumstances dentists and all health care professionals face related to growing concern about COVID-19,” according to the March 16 statement from ADA President Chad P. Gehani. “The ADA is deeply concerned for the health and well-being of the public and the dental team. In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments.
“As health care professionals, it is up to dentists to make well-informed decisions about their patients and practices. The ADA is committed to providing the latest information to the profession in a useful and timely manner. The ADA is continually evaluating and will update its recommendation on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available.
As a result of these recommendations Four Flags Family Dentistry is immediately canceling all elective procedures, including all elective restorative procedures, all cleanings, and all other hygiene appointments until at least April 1, 2020. We will continue to remain open to treat patients in need of immediate, necessary or emergency dental treatments. This includes any patients who are experiencing pain or discomfort related to their dental or oral health. In this regard please contact our office by phone if you feel you need immediate dental healthcare assistance.
Our staff will be reaching out to all patients affected by these cancellations to help each of you reschedule your elective appointments for a later date. If you have an appointment scheduled between now and April 1, 2020, and we have not contacted you, please contact our office prior to coming in to inquire as to the status of that appointment. As always we can be reached at 269-683-4180. We will also be updating this website with information and changes as they become available.
